In May 2014 presidential elections took place in Egypt. The military took control over political process. The former Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was elected the new President of the country.
The authors believe that the fall of the M.Mursi’s regime was logical and explain why. It is pointed out that, due to the fact that the United States have bet on «The Brothers», Americans found themselves in embarrassing situations, weakened their position in Egypt. In such circumstances for the Egyptian generals it was convenient to find Russia as an acceptable partner.
Now in Egypt, there is an increasing influence of the military power which has resulted from the “revolution of 30 June”. In fact it’s absolutely the same forces came to power which were at the helm until the revolution.

Poverty and hunger are the ugly face of globalization, which were always accompanying the mankind. The entire second half of the twentieth century has witnessed many attempts to defeat famine, to put an end to a situation in which hundreds of millions of people are not able to secure a dignified existence. However, these targets have not been achieved.
The author analyzes the reasons why poverty is still widespread, not only in developing countries, many of which are the poorest, but also in countries held, even the richest ones, where it seemingly should not to be.

PRIORITIES OF THE FOREIGN ECONOMIC POLICY OF INDIA by N.V.Galishcheva, Dr.Sc. (Economics)

The article deals with the main directions of Indian external economic policy in 1990-2010s, the main aim of which is the country’s integration into the world economy. The author draws attention to weakening position of Russia in the Indian external economic policy’s priority system in
1990-2000s and to the fact that Russia hasn’t got powerful instruments for widening cooperation with India like those of the USA, the EU, Japan, China and the ASEAN-countries have. This has been revealed on the basis of statistical data and analysis of economic cooperation between India and these states.
The mutual cooperation with the above-mentioned states is developing on a wide range of areas: from environment and health-care system to biotechnology, ICT, space sector and civil nuclear power engineering. The author indicates that perspectives of the Indo-Russian partnership heavily depend on the progress of economic effectiveness in Russia.

At the beginning of the XXI century the Pacific Rim, that are the lands around the Rim of the Pacific Ocean has become one of key areas which is actively involved in global geopolitics. The region turned into a busy intersection where different economic interests intersect and through which the strategically important transport communications go.
The process of world globalization is accompanied by expansion of interstate economic relations, by increasing of trade, scientific and technological cooperation, involvement in turnover of new retail markets. All this can not be done without a corresponding change of national and international transport infrastructure.

The paper examines the socio-economic and political situation in northern Sudan after the separation of South Sudan. It argues that the country’s political context is characterized by instability, the continuation of armed conflicts on the periphery and complex relationship with the new southern neighbor. At the same time, the country is experiencing a severe economic crisis, which is mainly a result of the loss of oil revenue after the country’s split.

Article is devoted to consideration of existing mechanisms of regulation of water problems in the basin of Mekong river. The role of Mekong River Commission is analized. The special attention is paid to the influence of the Chinese projects on development of hydropower projects of the Lower Mekong. The complex of the problems connected with usage of water resources is considered in this paper. The article deals in detail with complicated interdependence of a number of branches, linked with river’s system: fishery, hydropower and agrarian sphere.

The ways to improve mutual understanding between tourists and indigenous peoples, and the use of international experience in the development of tourism are also analyzed.

Historians, economists, political scientists, sociologists, environmentalists, linguists and anthropologists shared the latest results of their research, discuss a wide range of contemporary problems of Africa at the meetings of 53 panels.

The article examines forms of intercommunion of Russian and Japanese youth at the end of XX - beginning of XXI century. The activities of the Japanese club «Hippo Family Club» and of private educational institutions of the Russian Far East which are specializing on development of youth interaction is examined.

The article is depicting Indian popular resort Goa. The Russians come here to spend their holidays, some of them catch Goa-syndrome and return repeatedly every year or stay there forever. There are several ways for such persons to earn their living or even to begin business, though illegally. The author stresses complicated relations existing now between the Russians and local population and the attitude of Indian authorities to penetration of Russian mafia to Goa.

THE IMPACT OF INTEGRATION ON FLOWS OF INVESTMENTS: ASEAN EXPERIENCE by Yu.A.Vasina, Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok

There is a trend of increase in the number of regional integration agreements in modern global economy, which are the basis of the establishment and functioning of the regional economic integration associations of the states. Practice of their operation shows that this kind of integration has a direct impact on various aspects of economic development either of the individual integrated countries or of the regional integration as a whole. In this paper, impact of regional economic integration on attracting of foreign direct investments is highlighted, that is based on the analysis of scientific concepts of foreign researchers.

For last several decades rise of China has become the most conspicuous case of acceleration of history in socioeconomic field. Therefore the first steps of the country on the road of reforms deserve a lot of attention. Indeed, there are many documents, books and other sources on this subject.
The author, a lifetime Sinologist, visited the country in 1966 in the heyday of Red Guards’ rampage and then 20 years later when for Chinese that period had become an uneasy piece of the history. He found quite a different country full novice’s entrepreneurial spirit, desire to acquire Western technologies and to some degree even Western behaviors and way of life.

Fragments of the story of the Moroccan writer Fatuma Dzherrari Benabdenbi «Air women» written in French are published in our magazine in translation of S.V.Prozhogina.
The story has a lot of shades, but the meaning of all of them is the same: to recreate a trace female presence on the land, to capture the moment of her appearance, her heyday, the maturation of their hopes, her understanding of women’s purpose in this world, pain of unjust insults and joy of love.
