Abstract:    The article is describing different stages in the development of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and People’s Republic of China, and analyzing its directions and the factors, which encouraged its deepening. Relations between Oman and the PRC began to develop after the establishment of diplomatic contacts. The cooperation between them covered both political and economic spheres. Throughout the years, trade relations have received the closest attention, since China was interested in importing energy resources, and Oman imported the consumer goods it lacked.
Gradually, the level of relations between the two countries increased, eventually reaching the level of strategic partnership.
The implementation of plans for the long-term development of Oman - Vision 2040 and the Chinese program "One way, one belt" open up new opportunities for them to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
China highly appreciates Oman's ability to implement the One Road, One Belt project. The land and sea routes have a number of crossing points - one of them is the industrial city of Sohar located in the Sultanate of Oman. In addition, Oman is of great importance for the implementation of the PRC's Maritime Silk Road. It is connected not only with the Arabian Peninsula and the Persian Gulf region, but also with East Africa and South Asia - the territories included in this project.
The author paid special attention to the period, when both countries adopted perspective development plans, which realization stimulated further widening of Oman - China ties.
