Abstract:

   The article presents to the wide range of readers as well as the scientific community the information about the International Scientific Conference organized by Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) and the Lebanese House in Moscow, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of great Lebanese and Arab writer Mikhail Nuaime (1889-1998) with the participation of Russian and Arab orientalists, religious figures, politicians, official persons of many organizations, educational and culture institutions, taking part in large activities of M.Nuaime's works translations into Russian. Among them representatives from Institute of Asian and African Countries (MSU), Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A.S.Pushkin Institute of Russian Language, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, spiritual leaders of Antioch Patriarchate, Poltava Theological Seminary, officials from Ministry of Culture of Lebanon, Lebanese State University, Associations of Soviet and Russian universities' graduates in Lebanon, diplomatic persons from the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic in Russia, Representative Offices of the League of Arab Countries in Moscow, UNESCO Representative Offices and the Embassy of Arab Countries in the Russian Federation.

   Mikhail Nuaime - the great modern Arab writer of Lebaneese origins, played a leading role in the process of formation and strengthening of Russian-Arab spiritual contacts and literary relations of XX century. His works reflected complex moral quests, religious and philosophical representations of the modern individual, a deep and concern search for the origins and patterns of relations and secret ties between a human person and the world around him.
